In October 2009, the NZ Transport Agency re-engaged with the Kapiti community on its plan for the Peka Peka to Otaki route (the previous plan was approved by the former Transit Board in 2002). In December 2009, the preferred route previously approved by the former Transit Board was confirmed by the NZTA Board. Since then further investigation and design work has been carried out to determine the proposals for the expressway.
Now the NZTA is seeking feedback on the proposals for the Peka Peka to Otaki Expressway including the form, function, and location of interchanges and connections with local roads.
