Petone to Terrace Tunnel Traveller Information Project

Installation of gantries, electronic signs, cabling and CCTV cameras to assist with traffic management and traveller information. The Lane Control Signs on SH1 from the Terrace Tunnel in Wellington city centre to Ngauranga Gorge were completed and ready to use in March 2010. Project purpose

This work undertaken on this project will result in a network of cameras and traffic management tools to improve efficient travel and manage incidents on the highway in a more coordinated way via the Wellington Traffic Operations Centre.
