Who does what

We're responsible for contributing to an affordable, integrated, safe, responsive and sustainable land transport system. It's a responsibility that requires us to carefully plan the land transport system and to fund it in a way that delivers value for money. In doing so we work with local government, as they have responsibilities for both transport and land use and are funding partners of land transport activities. This section explains further our different roles.

Our planning, management and funding role

Through our planning, management, programming and funding activities, we contribute to the development of New Zealand both nationally and locally.
